Additional Policy Notes
*The University of Georgia is required by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and state and federal regulations to inventory and track assets. Assets are acquired from a variety of sources. Sources might include federal or state surplus acquisition, loan of vehicle to UGA, etc. Regardless of the source of acquisition (e.g., purchase, surplus acquisition, donation, or loan). The custodial department is responsible for reporting asset information to Asset Management and complying with all applicable Asset Managements policies.
**Any state owned inventoried equipment housed or used at a non-UGA location (in a building not owned, leased, rented, etc. by UGA) must comply with the UGA Off‑Campus Use of Assets Policy, which requires formal authorization, documented approval, and active tracking of the asset’s off‑campus location to ensure continued accountability and insurance coverage.
